Experiment overview

A specially designed notebook that guided children through the process of identifying and addressing problems affecting their friends, family, and most importantly: themselves, and enabling them to prototype solutions.

Main objectives

I designed this educational tool to help children build emotional intelligence and practical problem-solving skills by encouraging them to observe everyday challenges, reflect on these situations, and identify personal strengths they can use to develop hands-on solutions.

Achieved results

The manual successfully engaged children in identifying authentic problems that mattered to them - from heavy backpacks and escaping hamsters to sibling conflicts.

By treating these concerns with seriousness, the project validated children’s perspectives while teaching fundamental solution-oriented techniques that transformed observations into concrete prototypes.

Main reflection

This experiment revealed children’s natural capacity for empathy and problem-solving when given appropriate tools.

The project established patterns of thinking that recognize challenges as opportunities for creative intervention rather than fixed conditions to be accepted - proving that when empowered with the right methods, children eagerly embrace both identifying problems and creating solutions.
