Experiment overview

A semester-long educational program that introduced children to ethical marketing principles through practical application.

The project transformed abstract marketing concepts into accessible learning experiences by challenging participants to develop responsible campaigns for innovative technologies.

Main objectives

I designed this educational initiative to equip young people with ethical marketing fundamentals by guiding them through the complete campaign development process for two forward-looking innovations: plastic-eating worms and plant DNA data storage technology - products that required thoughtful communication to balance excitement with responsibility.

Achieved results

The program developed participants’ practical marketing skills, from audience segmentation to targeted messaging, while emphasizing ethical considerations throughout the process.

The final campaign presentations demonstrated remarkable creativity and thoughtfulness, with students effectively communicating complex technological concepts to different audience segments.

Beyond technical skills, participants experienced significant growth in self-confidence, with one student expressing that the project helped her believe “the impossible becomes possible.”

Main reflection

The confidence gained through successfully communicating difficult ideas empowered children to see themselves as capable of addressing future challenges - proving that ethical marketing education can be a powerful vehicle for developing both practical skills and personal empowerment.
