Experiment overview

A year-long volunteer commitment at a local orphanage that transformed abstract social responsibility into concrete weekly actions.

The initiative created consistent support through birthday celebrations, educational events, fundraising coordination, and trip supervision - establishing reliable presence in children’s lives.

Main objectives

This initiative created meaningful impact through direct community engagement by establishing consistent presence rather than one-time interventions, mobilizing extended support networks through strategic fundraising among friends and family, and creating memorable experiences that expanded children’s horizons beyond institutional limitations.

Achieved results

The initiative provided consistent support through regular involvement in the orphanage’s activities throughout the year.

Special events like the giant slide for Children’s Day or educational session with team from the local Maker Space created memorable experiences that broke institutional routines.

The fundraising efforts effectively expanded the circle of support beyond personal capacity, creating a broader community of care.

Main reflection

This engagement has learn me that meaningful community building doesn’t require shared backgrounds, but rather mutual respect that allows different worlds to coexist productively.
