This website is created as a gentle pause in the fast-moving currents of the online world.
Here, you won’t encounter the chaotic energy of content overload, oversized images, or the oppressive pull of pulsating banner ads.
As an alternative, I invite you to a place where subtlety prevails. You can experience its manifestations in small gestures of care I designed with you in my mind and heart.
Welcoming all Seekers
To welcome visitors of all paths and abilities, especially those who navigate with keyboard or dedicated readers, several protective charms have been cast here:
☀︎ Sufficient color contrast between background and text
☀︎ Clear content and navigation structure
☀︎ Responsive font scaling
☀︎ Images have lazy loading support and alternative text
☀︎ Keyboard navigation structure present
☀︎ Sufficient time provided for reading
☀︎ No flashing content
☀︎ Predictable link behavior
Typography for diverse minds
Each element on this website is placed with intention, a thoughtful choice guided by neurodiverse design principles and crafted with purpose and care. This includes the typography that carries every word you read.
For the main body text I am using Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface created in collaboration with the Braille Institute.
It was designed specifically to maximize clarity and distinguishability between characters supporting low-vision readers, dyslexic readers, and neurodivergent minds who benefit from strong visual differentiation.
Its unique letterforms reduce confusion, enhance comfort, and make reading more effortless across various screen sizes and lighting conditions. Choosing Atkinson Hyperlegible is another way I honor accessibility, openness, and mindful digital design.
For titles, I’ve selected a font from Velvetyne.fr, a collective committed to free and open-source typefaces.
Their work represents a quiet resistance against the commercialization of typography, ensuring that beauty in digital expression remains accessible to all.
Honoring your sacred flow
Contemporary design trends are driven by a greedy agenda to extract as much as possible from our most precious resource: time, the true currency of life.
To help you stay conscious of this resource, my website keeps a gentle timekeeper in the footer, so you may remain aware of your journey here without slipping into digital drift.
Whispers instead of noises
The comments function on this website has been deliberately disabled to minimize overstimulation and unnecessary digital entanglement.
Instead, you are invited to send an intention across the ethers, perhaps our paths will cross in the physical realm, where more grounded and meaningful conversations can grow.
Still foundation, deep meaning
This website is a static solution.
What does that mean?
Its content is crafted locally on my computer and then uploaded as static files.
The patterns here shift only when intentionally transformed.
This reduces server-side processing, database queries, and overall energy consumption and enables fast loading, low resource usage, and a more ecological digital footprint.
In harmony with the earth, it’s worth being static.
Technologically liberated
Most tools used to build this website were Open Source.
Why is this important?
Transparency and Trust: Open Source makes the code visible, editable, and understandable. This approach foster collective trust.
Equal access to technology: removing financial barriers allows more people and communities to participate in the digital world.
Common good development: OSS supports public services and shared knowledge systems.
Regenerative potential: adaptable tools enable environmentally and socially aligned innovations, without corporate constraints.
My Open Source Software stack:
☀︎ Hugo: framework for building static websites
☀︎ Atom: text and code editor
☀︎ GIMP: image editor
☀︎ Converseen: image converter
☀︎ For notes taking I am using AnyType
☀︎ My computer is running Linux MX
Mindful use of AI
During the development of my website, I engaged in mindful use of AI.
I asked AI tools to help me with code optimization, checking for errors, and verifying spelling. These tasks can be time-consuming, and the support allowed me to maintain clarity, flow, and efficiency, and generating voice-overs for longer sections to enhance accessibility.
There is nothing inherently wrong with using AI when it is done ethically, consciously, and with intention, but most importantly when it enhances human effort rather than replaces it. This approach aligns with balance and discernment: the modern yin and yang of technology.
Respecting digital elders
My website was created with care for your hardware, including older or less powerful devices. Nothing here is designed to push your machine toward obsolescence.
Always supportive, never exclusive.
Visuals revealed by your choice
Most media you encounter here is revealed only upon your request.
Each item includes alternative text and visible file size information, allowing you to make informed, energy-conscious decisions.
All images are lightweight WebP files, max width 666px, reducing environmental impact.
Visuals sources
All visuals used on this website come either from my private archives or from public domain resources.
I choose not to use AI-generated images.
The world already contains an abundance of beautiful, forgotten, or overlooked works made by human hands. Giving them new life is an act of digital circularity, honoring what already exists instead of producing more.
The sacred waters we share
Visualizing environmental footprint, and especially the water consumption of the Internet is challenging.
To bring your awareness to the massive water consumption associated with digital technologies, this sanctuary features the sound of water drops when you click on active links and buttons. This gentle reminder symbolizes that each digital interaction requires water - our most precious resource and source of life.
This audio element, a form of sonic branding, activates an additional sense rarely acknowledged in discussions about digital environmental impact, opening another dimension for contemplation.
As water scarcity affects over 2 billion people globally, our digital water footprint raise serious questions about resource allocation and human rights.
If these water drop sounds become distracting, you can mute them using the dedicated function in the footer.
Gentle light for inner sight
The color chosen for this website’s background mimics e-ink readers.
Those type of screens have been shown to offer significant advantages comparing to regular OLED solutions, such as: reduced light emission, less visual fatigue, and better overall ocular health. Using less bright colors in interface design generally causes significantly more visual comfort.
This color combination and high contrast with the font also allows you to reduce brightness on your screen while reading.
Which I highly recommend you do, as there is a clear linear relationship between brightness settings and power consumption: brightness increases from 0% to 100%, power consumption rises correspondingly.
