Blessed be your arrival in this sacred Digital Sanctuary.

May your culture, ethnic origin, and all the complexities of your cultural identities be honored here, as well as the ancestral wisdom carried through your lineage across generations.

IMG ALT TEXT: A lineage of women spans across time. Their faces hold the wisdom of generations. Each woman a bridge between past and future, carrying ancestral knowledge through her body and spirit.

This space embraces you wholly: your spiritual guides, children, partners, siblings, animal companions, and all beloved souls connected to your journey.

IMG ALT TEXT: A circle holds everything: animals and herbs grow wild. The Earth spins, reminding us that all life is connected in one breathing system.

I would like to also acknowledge the digital infrastructure making our connection possible today

IMG ALT TEXT: A single cable. It carries our words and presence across the world.

The data streams flowing through undersea cables, the servers processing our communications, and the devices we hold in our hands almost as a modern talismans.

I recognize the full lifecycle of these technologies

IMG ALT TEXT: Raw minerals glimmer in the earth, pulled from deep mines by workers’ hands.

From minerals awakened from Mother Earth, often by the hands of children and vulnerable workers in shadowed mines, to the assembly workers whose spirits flow into each component, to the communities in waste lands who will eventually return these elements to the earth.

Their labor and sacrifice, often invisible in our digital communion are consecrated in this space.

As we connect here, I commit to raising awareness about the unjust conditions they face and supporting efforts toward more ethical, regenerative technological practices that respect human dignity and environmental wellbeing.

Akzaehe

Akazaehe is a traditional Burundian form of chanted musical greeting, sung exclusively by and between women.

It has been noted for fostering social connection and peace in times of conflict and instability and identified as a source of well-being for conflict-affected women in Burundi.

I have chosen it deliberately to warmly welcome you here, while also familiar you with this beautiful cultural practice and rise awareness of the current situation of African women, particularly those suffering in the ongoing armed conflicts surrounding mineral mining sites in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where violence continues to devastate communities while fueling the global technology supply chain.
